Pure joy!
About 20 minutes into our practice, the surprise arrived in the form of eight puppies. 4-weeks old puppies. The level of cuteness was through the roof (or through the sky in this case because the class is held outside.) I am not a dog person but the purist yogi in me melted. The puppies remained with us for the rest of the class which was punctuated with giggles, laughs, and sighs. Our teacher did a great job at modifying the pace of the flow so we could enjoy the company of the puppies, while keeping them safe. At one point, I had two puppies climbing on top of me, seeking my attention. The girl next to me stayed in savasana the rest of the class, with one puppy fast asleep on her chest. Priceless. Sadly, I admit that I would have probably stayed home if I knew that puppies were going to be introduced in the class. I would have missed the opportunity to feel the playful energy and to be part of a community that was given the chance to get to know each other a little better while cuddling cute puppies. Not a bad way to start our Sunday morning!
So, to the purist yogi in me, I say, open your heart to new experiences, for they have the possibility of bringing you pure joy and so much more! Comments are closed.
