Carol Buchinski has been golfing for 16 years and wishes she would have taken it up when she was much younger!
She believes that we can achieve anything we want if we are willing to work for it. Her motto in life is "you are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream".
MY FAVOURITE GOLF COURSE:
Sandals Emerald Reef Golf Club, Great Exuma, Bahamas for its spectacular views
MY BEST GOLF MOMENT EVER:
I am very proud of winning 1st Low Net in my flight to qualify for LPGA Amateurs Championship Finals twice - in 2014 in Nashville, and 2018 at Innesbrook, Palm Harbor, Florida. I want to do it again!
A GOLF COURSE ON MY BUCKET LIST:
MY FAVOURITE GOLFER:
Annika Sorenstam for her commitment to fitness to improve her game. I was privileged to attend a clinic and walk a 9 hole exhibition round featuring her and Natalie Gulbis at Magna some years ago and she was so down to earth and kind to everyone. A true role model! Currently, I am cheering on our Canadians: Brooke Henderson, Corey Connors and MacKenzie Hughes. Skilled professionals and good people!
MY FAVOURITE YFG MOVE:
I enjoy sequences that work on spinal mobility, particularly the thoracic spine, and hip mobility. Shortly after I took up golf I was diagnosed with advanced arthritis in my cervical and lumbar spine. Through stretching and strengthening I am able to walk 18 holes 4x a week, but have had occasional pain during practice or in cold weather. This year I am experiencing no back pain even when practicing, which I attribute to Yoga for Golfers. I also have increased rotation and my game is improving as a result.
