Fifteen months ago, at the suggestion of a friend, I found myself in the office of Ken Sylvan, a personal trainer and owner of B Elite. Recovering from an injury, I had trouble sleeping because of the pain, and I had no energy. My own yoga practice was far from being satisfying, and teaching was becoming taxing. I was also about to turn 50. To prevent osteoporosis, improving bone density had been on my radar for a while. However, strength training was at the top of my procrastination list. Not anymore.
