Many of us struggle with finding balance and joy during the holidays. The shorter days combined with the preparation and anticipation of celebrating with friends and family can make us feel depleted. That we stress or not, everything will get done so here are a few tips that may help you glide thru the holiday season with ease!
Manage your energy! You don't have to accept every invitation sent your way! It is OK to say NO.
Allow yourself some rest, some space to rejuvenate whichever way feels right to you, like perhaps sitting by the fire, slippers on, and enjoying a hot cup of tea!
Avoid disappointment by having NO expectations! Remember, it is not what is under the tree (or on the table) that matters but who is around celebrating with you!
Keep your sense of humour (especially when a close relative finds a way to rattle your inner peace!)
Soften your entire being (lower the shoulders, slow down, smile and be merry!)
In moments of stress (and there will be some), close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, focusing on a longer exhalation. Works like a charm!
